Hi! I'm Karen - I'm a Digital Strategist, Content Creator, Writer, Science-Geek and Policy Advisor.
I've spent the last 20+ years gaining valuable insights across a number of fields. Through my work in international business, strategic communications, and public affairs, in North America and in Europe, I've had opportunities to collaborate with many people from different countries, cultures and perspectives on large-scale global collaboration projects. I recently returned to Canada after a 4 year assignment in Brussels as Canada's Science & Technology Counsellor to the European Union.
Over the years, I've watched the rapid progression of Digital. I've seen advances in Digital Strategy, Digital Design, Digital Platforms, Digital Technologies and Digital Communications. People are working hard to keep up. For me, the heart of Digital is about the User. Any Digital product which puts the user at the centre of its development is more likely to be successful.
I believe that we all want to be the Heroes of our own stories. The Heroes of our Digital products, however, should be our clients. First, our clients need to be engaged from the conception of a Digital product. This can be done through through direct engagement as well as through the use of analytics and digital platforms.
In 2015, my co-founder and I launched DATAMASH, a Digital Strategy, Digital Market Research, and Analytics firm. The focus of DATAMASH is to help companies optimize their Digital Strategy, through analytics, engage their audience more effectively and grow their business.
